Crazy Cats!!

This is one of my cats, Sullivan. He seems to think that since I am done with the co-sleeper, he can take it over, nap in it all day, and watch TV lazily! At least give me a few days to get comfortable with my crib!

Thank You Aunt Sylvia!

My Aunt Sylvia (actually my Dad's aunt in Wales) knitted me a shawl and sent it over for me. From what my Dad told me, it is a family tradition. My mom finally put it on me and it fits great! It is both soft and warm - quite appropriate for this weather we have been having. Thank you Aunt Sylvia!

Sleep Training

Tonight is the second night that my Mom and Dad are doing the sleep training with me. Last night, I only cried for an hour (I am breaking Mom's heart) and tonight it was down to 40 minutes. At any rate, I am learning how to fall asleep on my own in my crib! Good luck Mom & Dad!!

In case you can't tell, I am thrilled!

Happy Turkey Day!!

I celebrated my first Thanksgiving today at my Nona & Grancha's house in Center City Philadelphia. Actually, it is my second Thanksgiving since we celebrated with my Mom's side of the family last weekend. We had so much food - leeks, potatoes, sweet potatoes, parsnips, brussel sprouts (my Aunt Emma's favorite), stuffing, turkey, and more!! My mom had so much food to eat, she actually fell out of her chair during dinner (I was a bit frightened at the time, but looking back on it, it was actually quite funny).

I spent some time playing with my only cousin Tristyn - he rocked me in my chair, gave me my pacifier (upside down), showed my mom all of his sharks in his shark book, and kept calling me "Deian Beian", as he thought it was quite funny!

I was going to wear my dress outfit, but my shirt was wrinkled. Instead, I sported my "elf" outfit the night before!

Grayslin Taylor Falsone Arrives!

Be still my heart - my first girlfriend was born on November 13th, 2005 at 11:00 AM. Grayslin is the daughter of one of my Mom's best friends (Jaime) from The Poconos where she grew up. Grayslin's older brother Dravyn (5 years old) did not wish to be aired in this blog because he is not fond of babies at this point in time, but he sends his best wishes and is still loving his dinosaurs!

Ouma & Oupa

Today my Ouma & Oupa are going back to South Africa where they are missionaries. My Grandparents took them to Newark Airport where they will depart, have an 11 hour lay-over in London, and then continue to Jan Smuts in Johannesburg, South Africa. In fact, the whole reason my Mom and I are working on this blog is so my Ouma & Oupa can see how I am growing each day! This is a picture of my Oupa and I when I was about a month old.

Autobiography

For those of you who have not had the pleasure of meeting me yet or hearing my story, my name is Deian Thomas Legge. I was born on August 3, 2005 at 11:50 PM (Mom says that's good because she escaped an extra day at the hospital this way - you know, being born before midnight). Speaking of the hospital, I thought I'd mention that I was born at Abington Memorial Hospital and Dr. Jimmy Ruiz was the man who brought me here - MmmKay. I weighed in at 6 pounds, 1 ounce (my own wrestling class - fear me competitors!) and measured at 19 inches. This is remarkable, as I was born a whole month early!!

Now I will digress and tell you about how my name was decided by my Mom and Dad. My first name is Deian (pronounced as Ian with a "D" in front), which is Welsh for the name "David". My father is Welsh (meaning he was born in Wales - and Wales is NOT in England!!) and my grandfather (my mom's dad - if you can follow that) is named David. My middle name Thomas is given because my Dad's middle name is Thomas and so is his Dad's! Trying to include both Patriarchs was tough, but Mom and Dad pulled it off!

At any rate, my Mom has been trying to help me make this site forever! She has been drafting entry after entry and finally decided that we need to start things somewhere and we need to work together. My take on things was to set up a webcam in my crib so that I may air my life as it is - like a reality show, but Mom said that it's not the best idea as there are "bad people" out there. On the other hand, Mom would like to boast about my achievements to others through this site, but I think it is a bit on the gloating side. We are happy to announce that we have come to a happy medium and are going to incorporate both styles into this blog. I can talk about my green, smelly poop while Mom & Dad talk about my milestones, smiles and sounds.

So, to bring everyone up to speed, I will continue to talk about myself in the present.

I am now 3 1/2 months old. I weigh 14 pounds and am not sure how tall I am (although I am really challenging Carter's right now to fit into their 3-6 month old pajamas). I am now cooing, laughing (especially when I poop because I know how I've got it made - usually Dad having to change this mess), making sounds that start with the consonants "y", "g", "m", and "d", still peeing in my own face (Nona was the first to experience this when I was a wee lad), and get magically happy when Dad gets home each day.

In the future, I will add more. My mom has so many pictures to add, but needs to find the perfect one, so we will add pictures soon!
